  • Thx for your post, I really enjoy your blog. Long time lurker, first time commenter, you know the drill. I tried to share this one time before, I don’t think it posted correctly…hopefully it will this time!

  • May24Luci I loved this book. Maybe a little scary for the age group but there are so many scary story’ sriees for the same group that is may be just right anyway sometimes kids are a lot more in-the-know as far as what their peers are reading. I think that what adults may find too dark for kids is not what kids think they do seem to love this stuff. Abbys family was so great and i really liked the fact that so many of the other characters were so well defined and not just window dressing’. And i think kids will lean toward a character who can’t always rely on magic to get her out of a tight spot.

I’m so glad you enjoyed it! You’re right, there is some scary stuff — I actually didn’t think about how scary it was while I was writing it, until my editor pointed it out. And…I’m really glad she did.

I’m also thrilled you liked Abby’s family. They were a ton of fun to write. ;)
